We are situated midway between Rosedale Abbey and Pickering on the outskirts of Cropton, within walking distance of Cropton forest and the North York Moors. There are many tourist attractions in the area. The East Coast is a half hour drive away i.e. Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey with many small fishing villages along the way.

The city of York is just over half an hour journey by car. At Pickering the North Yorkshire Moors Railway travels through Heartbeat country (Goathland) and the various small stations in between. For the children there is Flamingoland not far away; this theme park and zoo provides a fun filled day for all the family.

There is much to do and see in this area and Beckhouse makes the ideal base from which to explore the beauty of North Yorkshire. There are many traditional public houses and inns in and around the area which serve food, the nearest being half a mile away. This also has it's own brewery where you can sample many traditional beers.
